My buddy and i are about to be out of the military in june and we are from iowa and are in much need of a tropical getaway. We are seriously considering starting new lives on the island. I wanted to go to california myself, but when he said hawaii, i couldnt stop thinking about it. We were looking at getting a 200000 dollar house near the beaches and living everyones fantasys.
He works as an x ray tech in hospitals , and i want to get into working as an electrician..
any feedback you would have for two 21 year old bachlors in the prime of thier lives ..i would greatly appriciate it!!!

Why not, come to Hawaii and enjoy paradise. We always need hospital workers, tell your friend to try check Queens Hospital, the biggest in town.
For 200,000 $ you only get a wooden small house on the North Shore, unless you want to use 200,000 $ as a down payment and loan more.
Houses are very expensive here, you can rent first and see what are you like best.
I used to live in California, Hawaii is nicer, better weather, people are great, it is truly paradise on earth. Let me know if you have any more questions.
As for you as an electrician, we have a gazillion of contractors here because so many condos are built. Plus right now unemployment is like 2 %, so economy is good.
