Subject: Which island to choose!?

Question
Me and my fiance are 21 and looking for a honeymoon destination. We were thinking Hawaii but we are on a budget. First could you help us find a affordable island with nice hotels or huts? And second we would like to know where we can find the exotic waterfalls, lakes, and lush floral forests that we can explore. We want beautiful scenery and exploration with a little night life. Which island would be best? Thank you for your time! Laura

Answer
Aloha Laura,
First of all congrats for your upcoming wedding.
All Hawaiian islands have beautiful beaches and scenery, but of course some ore more urban than others. Most night life happens on O'ahu which also has Waikiki with highrises and traffic. On the other side, you ca escape all that by driving around the island where you will find waterfalls and rain forests.
Now Kaua'i is a very quiet island with no night life but more natural habitats, rain forests, quiet landscapes etc.
Same goes for Maui, which has Lahaina, a small but active city with nightlife but also quiet corners such as Hana and Kula, 2 smaller cities.
Finally the Big Island has active volcanoes, and the most exotic landscape, with half the island being black from the recent lava and the other one a lush green.
So all this said, I think Maui would be good for you, O'ahu might be too busy and Kaua'i too quiet.
You can also, if you have enough time, visit 2 islands.
Finally there is also Lanai as an island, but there is zero nightlife on Lanai as well as Molokai, which is the only island where you can sleep in a camp, in a tent or hut. All other islands have only hotels, but they are beautiful and some are small enough to make you feel more homy.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Malia
