Question Thank you for your quick and encouraging reply.
I should have also mentioned that this company is a foodservice company and I am seeking a sales-related position. I feel that sales is in my blood and really want to give it a shot. I do have a background in marketing and customer service. When I attended post-secondary, I specialized in entrepreneurship and sales.
I think I have communicated my passion, desire to learn and enthusiasm in that cover letter I previously mentioned. It is disappointing to not have heard from them yet. I have sent the resume and letter a few weeks ago.
I have applied to that company a few times before and have applied the last time when they posted an ad on the Monster career site.
Do you have any more advice to offer me? Thank you in advance. I will listen to anything you have to say.

Question -
I applied to this company I have long wanted to work for quite some time now.
In my cover letter, I have detailed my background, experience and skills (along with how the company will benefit from them). I have also expressed in the letter that I have wanted to work for them as a sales rep for a long time and am aware of their training program.
I have included my resume as well.
I want to email a follow up targeted to one specific person in charge of the hiring decisions, I do have her business card.
What can I say in the email to let her know I am still interested and want the position? The company requested 'no phone calls.'
Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your question.
"No phone calls" doesn't mean no emails. By all means send a follow-up email. You want to make sure that your information did get to the proper party and a simple one time email isn't going to hurt anything.
Sounds like you are on the right track. I wouldn't put all of you eggs in one basket with this company - sounds like you have done everything you can do to catch their attention.
We have a great deal of success with the local job boards in our area. The local job boards are more focused and you won't waste as much time as with Monster or some of the other giant boards.
