Headhunters & Employment Agencies - Follow Up Help Advice Needed

Expert: Ed Freeman - 8/16/2005

Question
I applied to this company I have long wanted to work for quite some time now.

In my cover letter, I have detailed my background, experience and skills (along with how the company will benefit from them). I have also expressed in the letter that I have wanted to work for them as a sales rep for a long time and am aware of their training program.

I have included my resume as well.

I want to email a follow up targeted to one specific person in charge of the hiring decisions, I do have her business card.

What can I say in the email to let her know I am still interested and want the position? The company requested 'no phone calls.'

Thank you in advance.

Answer

Thanks for your question.

"No phone calls" doesn't mean no emails.  By all means send a follow-up email.  You want to make sure that your information did get to the proper party and a simple one time email isn't going to hurt anything.

Good luck!
