Question
hello,i was wanting to know what you thought of the phoenix masters in healthcare administration degree. also i am trying to decide between a MBA or a MHA, what are the major differences between the two. thank you

Answer
I do not know much about the MHA degree from the University of Phoenix. However, if you are seeking an online program, I suggest that you look over the comprehensive list available at www.aupha.org, which shows all of the MHA programs both face-to-face as well as online. The major difference between the MHA and the MBA is that the MBA is a much broader degree, where the MHA focuses on the business of medicine only. If you believe that you want to make a career in healthcare administration, I might suggest that you seriously consider an MHA. However, if you think you may wish to work outside of healthcare at some time in your life, I would sooner suggest the MBA with some elective courses in healthcare administration. Write back if you have specific questions, once you look over some of the programs. You can also learn more about the healthcare administration profession at www.ache.org.
