Being a healthcare consultant requires an expertise in one or more of the following areas of healthcare administration - accounting and financial management, billing, marketing, human resources management, management information systems, fundraising, practice management, facility planning, strategic planning, etc. There are firms that specialize in certain areas of consulting, while many CPA firms also have healthcare consulting divisions. This is also an area where a person could work for himself or herself as an independent consultant.
