Question Hi-I've been in nursing for 23 years. The last 3 have been in Quality Improvement. I'm considering switching to our outpatient oncology clinic, either as a chemo nurse or physician nurse. I'm 44 years old. If I ever wanted to go back to the type of job I have now, how difficult would that be? My husband thinks that once I become a "floor" nurse I would be looked down on and wouldn't be considered for another job in this type of setting.
Answer Hi Ellen,
Thanks for your question. It isn't the usual kinda question I get. You can explain that you are "taking a break" from QA and want to change settings and I would think that anyone would understand. You can "always go back" as long as you don't stay away too long : )
