I am a dentist from india with a clinical background of 3 years exp. I am interested more in health care management(HCM) field. I am in a dilemma whether to choose Masters or MBA in health care management. I got admission from texas womens for masters in HCM and university of findlay for MBA in HCM.Many people are saying that MBA is fetching top positi on jobs with high salary. In india INDIAN SCOOL OF BUSSINESS which is established in colloboration with whartons and Kellogs MBA in HCM students who pass out are getting top jobs with very high salary but good schools always require a GMAT where i have GRE N TOEFL.I am really confused what to do.
In UNITED KINGDOM there are good universitied offering MBA iN HCM. If my USA visa gets rejected i have no other option other than studying in UK. But,I want to know if we can get a good job in USA/canada with UK degree.I know in UK its tough to get a job after study.I can manage a job in india but can i manage a job in USA/Canada.Please, kindly help me out. I would be grateful to you sir.
Answer If you truly feel you want to pursue a career in healthcare management, I suggest that you obtain a masters degree in healthcare administration (www.aupha.org). I believe that a degree from the UK will be marketable in the United States as long as you make sure that you take coursework in the American healthcare system, especially in how the business of medicine and reimbursement works in the United States.
