Question Hi,
I'm currently working on my degree in Business Admin and Healthcare administration and will continue to obtain my Master's in both. I want to know what kind of jobs are available now and if volunteering is the better option until I finish the Bachelors? Thanks
Answer Hi,
It's difficult to find a good job with a BS in healthcare administration; the entry card is really the master's. You might be able to get into a medical practice and that would be good experience.
Volunteering is great but it needs to be targeted correctly. Volunteer to sit on a Board Committe or work on a substantive project at the adminstrative level. If you don't know how to get to that place, call the local Chamber and ask for an introduction to some of the hospital administrators. They will be more likely to make time to talk with you that way. There's always something that needs help in a hospital - you just need to get to the people who can clear the way.
Best of luck,
Sue
