Question I am a 31 year old male, no high blood pressure to my knowledge or high cholesterol problems. I have a question about symptoms which I have recently experienced on two occasions. Two weeks ago I was at work and all of a sudden I felt a little lightheaded and nervous and my heart felt like it was beating a little faster. Lasted only a few minutes, less than five. I went home, laid down and felt better but then vomited twice after feeling sick to my stomach. I felt much better afterward once I relaxed and haven't felt anything else since then. Then last night I felt nausea again, vomited, and i could feel my heartbeating which felt very strong and unusual. Three years ago just as part of a full physical at my request I had EKG and treadmill stress test performed with ECHO and everything was fine according to the cardiologist. I do have a stressful job and sometimes I wonder if I am prone to anxiety attacks. Any light you could shed on this for me would be greatly appreciated.
Answer Most likely the slight increase in your heart rate was secondary to the anxiety and nausea/vomiting. If you continue to have any of the above symptoms you should have an evaluation by your personal physician. Good luck!!!
