Question
Frank,
I recently had my first echo.  I am 44 female 125 lbs.  Here are my results.

LVID 4.0 cm
LVIS 2.6 cm
IVS 0.9 cm
LVPW 1.0 cm
AoRoot 2.6 cm
LA 3.6 cm
Ejection fraction: 60%
TRICUSPID VALVE
PA PRESSURE 33 mmHg
PK systolic TR Velocity 2.4 m/s
left and right ventricle are normal is size and function.  mild mitral regurgitation. moderate tricuspid regurgitation.

I am extremely worried about my PA pressure and have anxiety.  How accurate is this number using an echo.  Do I have need to worry?  Will this get worse?

Thank you

Jennifer

Answer
There is very mild elevation of your pulmonary artery pressure. Most likely it is not serious but you should consider a formal cardiology evaluation to assess the cause and significance. This is not something that can be properly evaluated over the Web. Good luck!!!
