Question Hi doctor
My dad is 67 yrs old.He underwent CAG and attempted PCI to LCX, and its report is like this....
LMCA : Normal
LAD : Type III. NO flow limiting lesion in LAD. Minor plaques in mid LAD.
LCX : Non dominant. OM1 normal,OM2 normal. After OM3 LCX is totally occluded.OM3 and OM4 are collaterlised.
RCA : Dominant. Distal RCA totally blocked ( long segment). PDA and PLVB collateralised. PDA has ostial disease.
Attempted PCI to LCX . However proximal cap could not entered with a miracle 4.5g wire. Hence backed out.
Doctor, Could you explain its outcome in his future life and its remedies to cure this?
Answer Dear Koshy,
His outlook seems good. He has already built bypasses around the blockage. He needs no further intervention unless chest pain is a BIG problem frequent and severe, in which case CABG could be done easily. He should of course eat a heart-healthy diet, exercise regularly, not smoke. take aspirin, a statin and a beta blocker, and be sure his BP is below 140 all the time
Please write back if this note doesn't answer all your questions.
