Question Hello Mr. Richardson:
I am just wondering if feeling a thump in the center of your chest is something life threatening? I have normal EKG's and I have had a normal ECHO. Also, all blood work is normal. I am a very anxious person. Is this something that I should be worried about and what causes it?
Thank you!
Answer Dear Rita,
No not life or health threatening. You're probably feeling skipped heart beats, which are normal heart activity, don't mean you have heart disease now or will in the future. The beat after the long pause of a skipped beat is an extra large beat that many people feel as a thump.
