Question Hello Dr., thanks so much in advance for answering my question. I'm a 23 yr old otherwise healthy male. 6ft 205lbs, cholesterol 246, bp 138/87. I've had echos, holter, stress test, and event monitor, all normal besides pac's and pvc's. I've been having alot of pvc's lately and seen a EP and he said that I have pvc's and i think v-tach, he said my heartrate a few times would jump up to 167ish. He told me neither are life threatning. I'm so scared that these will cause v-fib for me. I'm going on a fishing trip and am scared that this would happen to me being away from a hospital, I have alot of anxiety about this. My chest will feel funny sometimes and i will feel it in my throat, and i will feel a skipped beat feeling(especially in my throat). My question is with the tests that I've had and the symptoms and the PVC's, PAC's and the jumping of the heart rate, does this mean that i have a high chance of v-fib or a-fib???????? or is this normal and benign and how sure can the Dr's be of saying that? thanks so much
also with all the ekg's and monitors i wore would my cardio or ep have noticed if i had any delta waves or abnormal pr interval, is that easily missed?????
i also have frequent left side chest pain along with left arm pain.
Answer Dear Michael,
With normal echos, stress test etc., you are at no risk of VFib or AFib. It's quite safe so far as your heart is concerned to go anywhere and do anything. Just don't drown while fishing.
