Question
I am 75 yrs old.I have mild LV diastolic dysfunction. Though my EF is 69%.Now I am on medication- minipress xl,olmetor 40 and lodoz 2.5. Now my heart rate is 54 per minute. Is this a healthy sign? Pls. advise.

Answer
Your meds are all for treatment of high blood pressure, while the last one contains a beta blocker that will slow your heart rate. Since your HR=54, it means you are "maxed out" on beta blockers. Whether that is an issue depends on your symptoms, such as dizziness:

If you feel well and not activity restricted, there is no reason to change.
Hope this helps,
