Heart & Cardiology/Ruddy complexion
Is there any relationship between a mature man developing a ruddy or rosy complexion, and heart disease? I am 55. I have hypertension (controlled) am keeping my weight down with a low fat diet, and I exercise.
In the last few years my complexion has turned rosy-even in winter. I am adopted so have no male relatives to go by. There are a couple guys my age where I work with similar complexions. One also has hypertension, and one already had a heart attack. Both are younger and fitter than me.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Probably no relationship to heart disease. Given your age, hypertension and unknown family history ask your doctor about a 64 Slice CT to assess coronary calcification. If your score is above zero you will at least need to treat your cholesterol. Good luck!!!
