Question
Hello 37 male
History sinus tachycardia
Two episodes of lone afib exactly a year apart ( never determined the cause)

Lately I've been having chest pain not sharp not dull just more of an annoying pain it comes and goes and is at no particular time . Went to regular doctor had chest X-ray was normal .i then went to cardiologist . He wants me to have a cardiac ct 320 slice but my ins co won't cover it . So I am getting a stress test first . He wants to rule out coronary artery disease . I quit smoking in 2007 all my lipids are good total cholesterol is 190 . How common is CAD in someone 37-38 yrs old ? Is a stress test a good test to rule this out ? I have the option to pay for the cardiac ct myself at a cost of 1100 dollars . What are your thoughts ? Thanks
