Heart & Cardiology/Cholesterol

What kind of diet reduces the cholesterol that liver produces ?

Hi, there will be an article by a colleague of mine posted soon on this topic at http://blog.myheart.net.

Reducing serum cholesterol is conventionally a 3-pronged approach, there are additional considerations, but these are the big three:
1. Weight Management a BMI <25
2. Diet low sodium, low sugar-sweetened beverage, high fiber, and increased fruit and vegetable intake
3. Exercise stay physically active for at least 150 minutes at moderate intensity or 75 minutes at vigorous intensity each week

Theres some nice further information at the American Heart Association's national goals for cardiovascular health promotion and disease reduction (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20089546) and the American Heart Association's guideline on lifestyle management to reduce cardiovascular risk (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24222015).

Hope that was helpful.
