Heart & Cardiology/Heart Beat Rate

Question
When I am at my office sitting on pc and working my heartbeat shows 54-56 per minute, when I return to home it rise 65-72.

At the weekend I am doing some works as washing my car or do some repairing works at my home for about 2-3 hours of work, after that my heart beat shows 120-130 and it takes about 4-5 hours to come back to 72-80.

Your advice will highly appreciated.

Thanks

Answer
Hi,

How are you measuring this heart rate, is it some device or are you measuring it manually? The rates you mention are not particularly worrying, particularly if there are no symptoms such as dizziness, swelling, shortness of breath, reduced exercise capacity, chest pain, etc.. If you have those symptoms you should see a physician for a check up. An isolated increase in heart rate when exercising is relatively normal.

Hope that was helpful,
