scared so. I have mvp/mitral regurgitation +1. Today I wrongly picked on a tooth with a toothpick andsome plaque with blood came out.  i gargled with salt but I think I may have swallowed a bit. am I at risk for i.e???  and i am scheduled for teeth cleaning on friday ( i take amoxil an hour before)

I linked an article above discussing antibiotics and MVP. The only absolute indication for this is if you have a history of endocarditis, infection of the valve. Otherwise it is now considered to be of such low risk that the recommendation is not to routinely give antibiotics in this setting as theres no proof the risk is lower than any possible benefit. The chance of infection from a tooth pick related injury is so small that i wouldn't be concerned with it. Discuss this with your dentist and see what they have to say also.
