Heart & Cardiology/LBBB

Question
Dear Sir,
I had CABG x3 in 2012 and a stent into the left main stem last year (2 vein grafts were totally occluded).
A recent ecg showed SR with an element of partial LBBB pattern. A subsequent echo showed EF 40-50% (previous echo was 50-55% one year ago).
What is partial LBBB and is the EF reduction anything to be concerned about?
Thanks.

Answer
A Left Bundle Branch Block is a problem with the electrical system of the heart. It can cause dysynchrony which can cause a decrease in the ejection fraction. It is not low enough to consider bi-ventricular pacing. You should discuss this with your cardiologist. You should be on an ACE inhibitor, if you are not.

Good luck!!!
