Heating, Air Conditioning, Fridge, HVAC - Gas Furnance Issues

Question
QUESTION: Before I begin, I want to thank you Mr. Howard for answering my question.  Well, I have a gas furnace here at my place.  I made the stupid mistake of moving the thermostat control up and down the temperature scale, and now the furnace will not produce any heat.  I tried moving the tab to a degree where I knew it would produce heat, but I keep hearing a clicking sound. It sounds as if it wants to start but it doesn't. What can I do to correct this problem.

ANSWER: Hey Jay, what kind of furnace is this ?? A standing pilot or a circuit board controlled type. Gimme a clue & I'll see what I can figure out.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Well, the circuit board controls the electrical power to the furnance....  I believe it could be circuit board controlled, because, I cannot start the pilot manually.

Answer
That kind of furnace, controlled by a circuit board, starts thre heat cycle with the induced draft motor running. I would start by jumping the red & white wires behind the thermostat to see if the motor runs. If not you may have a bad board or a bad motor. Lots of electrical diagnosing neded after that. Difficult to do online.
