I work on commerical buildings for the most part, and have yet to find anything I could not troubleshoot and repair, when repairable. I work on small 1 ton units to a 2500 ton chiller. Troubleshoot air flow, elect, and control problems. I attend regular classes to keep up with the latest and greatest.

Question
Background:  I must measure air flow in a firing range at the shooter's position.  Guidelines recommend 50-75 feet per minute.  Using a Velocicalc velometer how much should the meter vary when measuring the flow?  Should the flow vary from 30-70 FPM in three minutes? 5-50 FPM?  How steady should the reading stay to determine what to report?

Answer
If the velocity needs to be a constant 50-75, then is should remain that at all times.  As I am not familiar with the guidelines, I can not tell you what they are looking for.  It may not be very specific, to very specific.  There are cases where something has to remain no matter what, and then there are cases where it has to remain at a point, and fall no lower or high then the point for x amount of time.
