Question
My furnace works very well when it comes on. I have to push the reset button on the furnace sometime 3 times or more a day. Then some days not at all. the blower doesn't shut off sometimes. It blows cool air. I push the reset button and the blower stops and the furnace turns on, then after a minute the blower turns back on and it heats the house to the set temperature.some time I notice the cool air and the temperature is where it should be on the thermostat, I push the reset button and the blower turns off, but doesn't come on until the temperature drops in the house. What should I do?

Answer
It depends on which reset button you are pushing(vent safety or rollout switch ). In either case you should have a qualified service technician determine the cause of the problem and correct it. These safeties are not meant for the homeowner to reset as the problems they prevent can cause property or personal damage( fire or carbon monoxide poisoning).
