Question We have installed 4 2hp motors with trunking in our church attic to ensure ventalation, ALL on different 20 amp circuits. When we start our motors there is no problem but when the temp and humidity reach acceptable limits the motors shut off, when and if they try and restart within 1 hr of shutting off they blow the circuit. I checked the intial start up amp and it is between 15 - 25 different motors, but when restarting amps are between 38 - 40. what can the problem be. I had the contractor, engineer, and electricians in to look at the problem, the electrician installed 30 amp circuits the motors were then run for an hour when shut down and restarted motors were drawing between 55 and 60 amps blowing the circuit. Motors were very hot to touch. Icalled the fan manufacturer and they said minimum voltage should be 208, when the electrician checked we were drawing 206. Contractor, electrician and engineer have never seen this problem before, so i now have a system that can not be turned on, do you see a solution for this problem. thanks for your time.
