Question The pilot had blown out during a Santa Ana wind without me knowing it. When I tried to turn on the furnance, after relighting the pilot, it will not come on. I replaced the flame thermocouple to no avail. The thermostat clicks when the temperature setting is increased but the furnance will not ignite the burners. What else should I be looking at to get it operational again?
Answer Well Steve, the favorite question is : Did you turn the gas valve knob to "ON" after lighting the pilot ?? It happens, you know. Does the pilot flame contact the top 1/2" of the thermocouple ?? Is it tight in the gas valve ?? Need to test the voltage at the gas valve wen calling for heat too. Sure you have power to the furnace ?? Tap on the gas valve to see if it may have stuck. 'bout all I can imagine went wrong Steve.
