QUESTION: The oven quit working on my Tappan gas stove series 110. The burners still work. I saw from a previous question that you answered on here that 98% of the problems is the ignitor switch on it. My dad said it was the thermocoupler, but to replace that part was very expensive, so I am ready to junk it, but I can't afford to buy a new stove either. Therefore, any advice you have to what may be wrong with it and how to repair it without being too overly expensive, please let me know. A quick response would be appreciated.

Answer
Thanks for the model number. You have aq simplistic oven....a single burner tube with an overn ignitor. When you call for oven temperature ....setting the appropriate dials, open the oven BROILER drawer and tell me if you see the oven ignitor glowing bright orange. Let me know.
