Heating, Air Conditioning, Fridge, HVAC - No air blowing out through the vents

Expert: Craig HVAC Expert - 11/5/2009

Question
Currently, when I turn on my furnace, the thermostat shows that it's on and there is heat coming out of the upstairs vents.  I live in a $1,300 square foot condo, two-story.  The burners are lit when I look at the unit in the basement.  It seems that the problem is, the fan is not working.  The same thing happened back in June or July, but of course it involved the A/C fan not blowing air.  I had a repair man out and he replaced the fan in the indoor unit.  My A/C still works and blows air, but my furnace does not.  I assume the same fan is used to circulate the air whether I have the A/C on or the furnace on.  What can I do?  Thanks.

Answer
With variations on the way different units are controlled internally, without the model number  it is hard to say what it could be.  For the time being, you can turn the fan switch from auto to on to see if the fan will run and give you some heat.
