Expert: Jim Barnhart - 11/3/2009
Question we purchased a home that is 40 yrs old. Recently, I have been noticing a smell in the rooms over the garage that smells like car exhaust. my husband doesn't smell it. we both have had dizzy spells and I am up a good portion of the night coughing...while he sleeps fine. we have CO2 detectors in every room, and had radon tests before we bought the house... Our furnace has an electronic filter, and we have an ionic breeze in our room. am I imagining this?
Answer Julie,
If you have a carbon monoxide detector in the room and your not getting anything you might just to be safe check with your gas utility company and also your public health department and see if they will do a courtesy test at no charge, they have sophisticated equipment.
