Question Hi,
I had a Trane XV90 installed about 4.5 years ago. The person who installed it said his boss had a brand new unit, but there was a small dent in the side of it and would sell it to me at a discount. Has worked flawlessly since. Noticed that I wasn't getting any heat, and have realized that my gas valve might not be functioning correctly (get small flame at ignitor but whole burner isn't lighting up, get external lockout code). I tried contacting the dealer, but they seem to be out of business. I went to Trane website to see if there is a way to still get parts under warranty. After looking at my furnace I noticed that my serial number inside is purposely scratched out. There is a spanish part to the label that someone apparently missed that has the number on it though. Any guesses as to why they may have done this? Wondering if the dealer claimed it as permanently damaged to get money back, but would think Trane would have wanted the unit back.
