Question Propane is on. Heat pump led is blinking 3 times, replaced thermostat, and air blows, just no heat. We have reset the heat pump, the thermostat and turned power off & back on at the breaker. All this worked the same way without replacing the thermostat. The outside unit is not doing anything, but we can hear the air ecpelling out 2 outlets beside it. What are we doing wrong?
Answer There are two separate units involved. If you have propane, this should be the heat pump back up heat and should operate regardless of the outdoor unit. If the outdoor unit does not operate, it is on a separate circuit than the indoor unit with the fan. Check at the disconnect outside to verify the outdoor unit is getting a full 240 volts. Do not check each line separately as you can read the same power leg through the compressor, you have to use a meter and put the leads on each power wire to verify 240 volts. Thanks J
