Question I have exact same problem as someone who asked the question on 5/8/2007. I have to defrost using hair dryer. I show 31 ohms at connector upstream of defrost terminator (one lead to d.t. - one to heat element). Now what?
Answer You have an electronic control board as opposed to a mechanical defrost timer on that unit. SOund like this is not entering the defrost mode. Look behind your lower kickplate/grille and see if you can find a little tech sheet. All the units controlled by a electronic control have various way of initiating defrost....Chekc there first and see if you can initiate a defrost. Let me know what you find.
