Question QUESTION: ught a fridge it is a kenmore 10657577791 or just 57577791. Leave it to me to but a lemon from a yard sale. Anyways, I hooked up the water line it is working fine. The problem is when I hook it up to the water valve. The water isn't flowing through even when I disconnect the other tubes (the water and ice maker) nothing comes out. The other problem is the fridge isn't cooling yet (I just hooked it up but the freezer is fine) and the motor is getting really hot. I don't want to spend any money I just don't have it how can I fix it.
ANSWER: Give it 24 hours to stablize before worrying too much. Once you get the unit cold, we will dig deeper into certain things that do not work.....

QUESTION: Ok, first of all thank you for your advice. I waited and it is now cooling just fine. However, the ice maker and water still were not working. I called an appliance repair guy and he told me what he found. The ice maker is getting water to it, but is getting jammed he thinks it needs replace because the coating is coming off, but it still isn't producing ice though. The part that confused him is with the water part. He tested the valve, which is fine. The power to the valve (the purple wire) doesn't have power. It also doesn't have power at the top by the dispenser. He told me to ask you if you knew what could cause this. Thank You, Amber
Answer Most likely the ice maker module is shorting. SInce the ice maker is flaking, it is probably in your best interest to replace it. The new ice maker come with a new module.
