Question
We have an inspector that is telling us that we HAVE to install P traps on A coils on top of furnaces. I have always understood that they be installed on the NEGATIVE side of the blower ONLY not the Positive side. I am looking for info to prove to the inspector of the above.

Answer
Well I'm not much on codes. They are different in different places. I agree with you after 30 yrs experience. That is a positive pressure on an upflow & needed to induce water flow into the P trap on the sewer line it drains into. Why have 2 P traps ??
