Heating, Air Conditioning, Fridge, HVAC - Portable A/C not draining properly

Expert: Eric Campion - 6/25/2009

Question
I have a Fujitronic FA-1300 which is no longer draining properly.  Water is supposed to be pumped out a drain tube near the top of the unit and now that has stopped working and instead the water produced from cooling is coming out of a drain at the bottom of the unit (overflow drain of some sort)  The tubing is not blocked.  I am guessing it is a problem with a pump or switch of some kind.  Any advice for resolving this issue?

Answer
Something sounds blocked probably in the area where the drain tube attaches to the unit. Unfortunately, I cannot find any info on the brand you own, so I am unable to veiw the system to advise you further.  But when water comes out another opening, it is typically a blockage inside. You will have to take the covers off and have a look around, that is about the best you can do, is see where it is going inside. Ann
