Heating, Air Conditioning, Fridge, HVAC - Refrigerator drip pan

Expert: Eric Campion - 6/27/2009

Question
Kenmore Refrigerator Model 363.9512711:  I have had this fridge 18 years, and the drip pan has never been cleaned because I cannot see how to remove it.  Anyway, it now needs a serious cleaning and I would like your suggestion on how to remove the pan without raising the unit.

Answer
On your unit, the drain pan is not removable without a lot of effort.  You will have to do your best to clean it where it is.  Soapy water, a small brush and a wet/dry vac will do the trick.  Wish I had a easier solution for you.  If you can get it outside, remove the rear cover and use a garden hose to clean the entire area.  Let it set out in the heat for about 8 hours and then you will be fine.  This is the way we clean them here at our shop prior to selling them.......Good Luck, Eric
