Question I'm running my air conditioner, and I noticed that the blower is quiting at times and sometimes not starting. I have an old 3 1/2 ton Heil heat pump. I removed the blower, checked the windings, replaced its run cap and checked the sequencer. Every time I applied voltage to the sequencer, the contacts closed. I also checked all the connections and cleaned them with contact cleaner. At this point, the only thing I can conclude is that I have an intermittent fault in the sequencer. What do you think? Thanks! Rick in Cape Canaveral
Answer The blower is triggered to run by the thermostat on a call for cooling. Check behind the tstat for a loose green wire as well as the green wire connection at the furnace. Afre that, the fan relay on the circuit board may be faulty.. When the blower quits, might try tapping on the relay on the board to see if the fan will start. .
