Heating, Air Conditioning, Fridge, HVAC - 5 ton condenser unit

Expert: Norval Trimborn - 7/12/2009

Question
i just replaced a 5 ton condenser unit that was grounded out and now my new one went out. What could be causes this? When i turn my unit on the fan runs in the furnace but the breaker at the panel trips and the condenser unit starts for a second then stops.

Answer
How long after the condensing unit was replaced did this problem appear? It is possible that when the original condensing unit failed that the breaker was damaged/weakened. You should have the company that replaced the condensing unit return to diagnose the source of the problem.
