Question I bought a house about 5 years ago. The house was built in the 50's. I had to have a new unit installed about 2 years ago and everything is working fine but I have a question. There is no filter for the return vent and never was one. Is this normal?
Answer The filter is usually inside the furnace. Open the blower door & look. They mounted inside the cabnet next to the return duct. If it is missing, that is where to add one. Have fun. Later .... P.S. When they installed a new unit, they should have installed a filter holder. I always do. Open the door & see.
