Heating, Air Conditioning, Fridge, HVAC - Circulating Basement AIr through Furnace Blower

Expert: Bill Brainard - 7/23/2009

Question
How do I turn on the blower to my forced air unit (Rheem) with out the heat
running?  When I turn the fan on on my thermostat nothing happens. This would
also be a helpful feature to circulating upstairs air from our wood stove in the
winter as well.

Answer
Rheem made a lot of different furnaces. What is your model # and how old is it. Give me the serial #...... BUT! Lets try the simple way first. Take the cover off your T-stat and tell me how many wires there are and their colors. Do you feel capable enough to pull 2 more wires from the furnace to the T-stat?? What T-stat do you have (model #)? Get back to me.
