Heating, Air Conditioning, Fridge, HVAC - GE Bottom Freezer No Defrost

Expert: Eric Campion - 7/7/2009

Question
Having to ask a new question on this revisited subject, the GE GBS22HCPAWW. YOur last answer:
I looked at it briefly....If I were comng out to repair, That is what I would have to do.  Bottom line is ohm out the terminator and heater.  If both are good, replace the electronic control.  That is a good rule of thumb if having to guess.  LEt me know the results of your test and I will supply part number, pricing and availability.

Result: I checked ohms for terminator and heater - about 32 just as Manual said they should be. So I guess it's the electronic control. Is that what the manual calls the evaporator thermistor, located in the evaporator assembly? If so, they provided a chart in the manual listing ohm values for it at different temps. I could check it, or if you are certain it's the culprit, please quote it or whatever you think needs replacement. (I was unable to determine the P/N - the manual didn't label the part on the expl. view!) Thanks, Mike

Answer
You can check the evaporator thermister and see if it is within range....those however hardly ever go out.  Part number for the control board is WR565X10656 and your cost is 129.95 in new.  Shipping would be 7.95.  Should you choose to order, follow this link to our website where you can fill out the secure order form to process your order.  https://www.affordableappliance.com/orderform.htm  If you have any problems, concerns or need further information, feel free to reply to this email or for Parts Order Only, call 570-622-6441.  Keep in mind ordering through us helps continue this free on-line help available for you and many others.  Help those that help you.
