Heating, Air Conditioning, Fridge, HVAC - GE GSS25LGMA WW Cooling Problem

Expert: Eric Campion - 7/4/2009

Question
I have a GE GSS25LGMA WW refrigerator that stopped freezing when the weather got hot and now the refrigerator side is not as cold. The outside dispenser panel stopped working a while back. The freezer is staying somewhat cool and the fans and compressor seem to be working. I have read that there is a temperature adjuster that controls the cooling flow into the fridge but I can't seem to locate it. The refrigerator was freezing food about a month ago and the temperature setting was on 1. The freezer was working fine until the humidity changed with the heat than it stopped freezing and everything defrosted. Is there a switch that can be replaced that controls the humidity? I hope you can help me find out what may be wrong.

Answer
Open the freezer door and then move food to see the entire rear inside panel.  Do you see any frost building up on this panel?

Waiting to hear from you,
Eric Campion
