Heating, Air Conditioning, Fridge, HVAC - GE SxS fridge (TFX26ZPDAWW) food side warm

Expert: Eric Campion - 7/7/2009

Question
I belive the damper controls in fresh food side is bad but cannot see how to remove it to test.
the freezer freezes, fridge side gets too warm ... cannot get good air flow thru fresh side ...
unit defrosts ok.
can you advise how to remove damper controls?
mike G

Answer
IN the refrigerator section all the way at the top left hand side is where the damper control is located.  You will have to remove both knobs and then the cover.  Once removed, you will see the damper control.  This is a mechanical damper control meaning you should be able to open and close mechanically.  Can you?

Waiting to hear from you,
Eric Campion
