of course the ignition components will wear our more often,especially the hot surface ignitor.if you change the cycle rate you are back to having the temp differance,not to mention the additional problems and cost that the zone controls will cause and what they cost to install.Most of these systems are under sized because there only conditioning small spaces at 1 time, this will usually mean they will wear themselves out sooner.In my opinion and experiance a zone controled system is a mistake in many ways. the correct solution is 2 systems.
