QUESTION: I have no a/c when i turn thermostat to cool and lower temp below room temp thats when fuse trips

Answer
FRANK,
TRY PROCESS OF ELIMINATION,
IF YOU DON'T HAVE AC YOU SHOULD JUST HAVE TWO WIRES GOING TO THERMOSTAT ONE CONNECTED TO R POST AND ONE CONNECTED TO W POST,
YOU CAN CHECK THERMOSTAT BY DISCONNECTING R & W FROM THERMOSTAT AND TWISTING TOGETHER.
FOLLOW THE R WIRE FROM THERMOSTAT TO GAS VALVE, SEE IF ITS TOUCHING SOMETHING & SHORTING?
