Eric and Ann,
I have a fairly new Sears Kenmoore series 90 electric dryer. WHat happens is that when I turn it on from any setting other than AIR it will run about 1 min then it makes this sound of speeding up then slowing down until it stops all together. After it stops the lights remain lit on the setting that was selected. I have just got done tearing the whole thing down to the drum, replacing the belt, and thorougly cleaning every spec of lint from inside. If I let it sit for a good bit (1 Hr) then select the AIR setting it starts to produce the same symptoms as a heated setting, but it appears to "work thorugh it". Then I can add a heated setting and it will run all day long until it sits for a bit (30 min). Then if I try to start it from the heated setting right off the bat, it will produce the bogging down scheme and eventually stop. I pulled the kick plate off the bottom and ran it and there appears to be a series of sensors along the heat duct. I listened and they were making a clicking sound when it began to heat up until it stopped. Any suggestions?
