GE Model TBX19JA

Interior light for fridge was not working. Bulb was ok. I removed the bulb holder, adjusted the contacts and now I am getting a good continuity reading from an ohmmeter. However, I can't reinstall the bulb holder. The socket that it fits into is on a very tight wire, and will not pull clear of the hole. There is no backsupport so no way that I can successfully relocate the plug. There is no obvious way to get inside the top panel.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
