I'd recommend having certified professional come over and check the service pressures on your unit. If its low on refrigerant then I'd recommend having the system evacuated and being recharged with R-410A it performs just as well as the original R-22 refrigerant, its cheaper, compatible with the compressor oil, and you dont have to be certified to purchase it.
