Heating, Air Conditioning, Fridge, HVAC/insulating the heating ducts

Question
Thanks for the advice. It has been very clarifying. After your advice i did further research on the net and stumbled upon "Nansulate" it is a paint on insulation with hydro-NM-oxide (by nanotechnologies) that decreases conduction, and reflects back the heat. Patent is pending. Since you are in the field what are the bad things you have heard about it- if you know/heard any thing?

Answer
That is a new product for me, but I can not imagine a paint on insulation that would be as efficient as the fiberglass. If I wanted to use this product, I would paint it on and cover it with the fiberglass. Just the thickness of any painted on product, I do not see how it could have that high of an R value. Thanks, J
