Question In Kings1 vs.7:21 what is the meaning of naming pillars. one pillar is named jakin and the other boaz and what do the names mean and how do u spell the meaning of them in hebrew letters. Hope this is not to big of a question. thanks Gaddy
Answer Kyle,
The Bible doesn't tell us why the pillars were named Yakin and Boaz. Yakin shares a root with the Hebrew word for stability, while Boaz means 'filled with courage'. Yakin is spelled yod kaf yod nun, יכין, and Boaz is spelled bet vav ayin zayin, בועז.
